Purple Monkey D.Luffy (ST-26) is still the king if you want explosive turns and big energy plays early on

I think I would have been less concerned with addressing balance issues from past sets and perhaps have concentrated on putting in some cards that would stand the test of time

I also see a lot of unsuccessful decks that lose because they just dont know what theyre doing theyre a random mix of cards along a mana curve rather than something like looks like a cohesive deck

did anyone else have more success

The main difference between this set and some of its predecessors is that a lot of the cards give players more options, and are better suited to a wider range of situations
