Its rendered beautifully, particularly the skin tones with their subtle gradients. Note also the dimple in the cheek. The painting is unsigned, as many were, but its highly likely that the artist trained under Frederik Vermehren at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Copenhagen.
