It has a very relevant creature type, a decent stat line, and evasion, and offers a nice stax effect by putting the brakes on any activated abilities that other players may be counting on
At four mana its priced to fit into controlling and aggressive decks alike, and the fact that you can get it back off of either your opponents creatures dying or your own is huge for making it work in either strategy

Despite arguably aiming for the exact same synergy, you are now clearly a much more methodical and reactive deck, and youll probably want more landcyclers, draw spells and Swallowed by Leviathan not to mention splashable bombs from out of color
But like I said, this is typical of a precon, and Im just nitpicking at this point
