Robert Thew, A West View of the New Dock at Kingston upon Hull, 1786 hornsea whilst keeping candles securely inThe Gott Collection of paintings, prints and drawings of Yorkshire was assembled in the 19th century by a wool merchant, William Gott and his son John Gott, Vicar of Leeds and later Bishop of Truro. It was presented to Wakefield Art Gallery in 1930 by Frank Green, a Yorkshire industrialist and philanthropist. The bound 10 volume collection comprises 1200 images, including watercolours, drawings, maps and prints depicting Yorkshire villages, towns,
