Each piece involves first harvesting the sustainable raffia plant, then hand dying the fibres, and finally weaving the bag and plaiting the handles. Raffia is a straw like material made from the leaves of the raffia palm tree, which is native to Madagascar. The raffia is harvested by cutting the green leaves of individual palm fronds. The leaves are
